Enspyre President Teaches at University

On June 2, Hai Yang University in Keelung invited Enspyre President Elias Ek to give a lecture on entrepreneurship and why he started Enspyre. The topic of the lecture was “My Business is My Painting” and reflected on how Mr. Ek has to use his creativity every day on uncountable small decisions and actions that altogether add up to running and building a successful enterprise.

“I wanted to give the students an insight into the mind of an entrepreneur,” said Mr. Ek, “I am sure there are many among them that have great business ideas but do not really dare to express them. I have benefited greatly from reading and hearing about other successful entrepreneurs like Richard Branson and Howard Schultz so if I can give someone a bit of knowledge and courage that’s really great.”

Well attended by over 130 students the lecture was an example of the Socratic method of teaching with a lot of questions and student interaction. It took a while for the students to warm up to the idea but even though the class long, the professor had to interrupt the Q&A session since there were so many questions.

One students said “I really appreciate that Mr. Ek took the time to speak to us. And in Chinese! I have had a business idea for a while and now I know I should go for it, that I need to believe in myself.”
