Liao Chao-hung, Director of Industry-Academia Research and Development at the university\u2019s Extension Education Division, stated that the International Workplace Experience Program signed between ECCT and Chinese Culture University will help European companies with operations in Taiwan enter campuses to discover talented students. At the same time, it will increase internship opportunities for students aspiring to work in international environments and may even lead to full-time employment, creating a win-win situation for both sides.<\/p>\n
Regarding whether Taiwanese students possess the abilities required for international workplaces, Chang You-kang, Chief Representative in Taiwan for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board, said that compared to foreign students, Taiwanese students tend to be more na\u00efve and less capable of presenting their goals and abilities. This may be related to long-term parental protection and less exposure to workplace competition. However, once they adapt to workplace culture, they show strong potential. For Taiwanese students aspiring to international careers, Chang You-kang suggested that they should first discover their interests, then develop their abilities based on those interests. After gaining competence, they can seek opportunities in international workplaces.<\/p>\n
He explained that Taiwanese students often do the opposite: they first look for popular job opportunities, then try to develop the necessary abilities, and only after finding a job do they attempt to cultivate interest in it. As a result, they are often unable to devote themselves wholeheartedly and without regret, making it difficult to achieve true success in the workplace.
