The U.S. state trade office asked Enspyre to help them identify and connect with Taiwanese manufacturers that were genuinely interested in investing or selling in the U.S., and to do it in a way that delivers the highest-quality results.

Usually, Enspyre starts with standard database ICP (Ideal Customer Profiles) filters like company size, revenue, or location to compile an initial list of potential leads we can contact. But there’s no straightforward filter for a company’s intent to invest or set up operations in the U.S. in the future. That meant our team had to dig into each company individually highlighting the need for clearer, data-driven buying signals to identify real intent earlier in the process.

Doing this research manually ensures quality but it is extremely time-consuming, especially when hundreds or thousands of companies are involved. Chasing the wrong prospects wastes energy and slows progress, and nobody wants that.

First, our lead generation team identified several buying signals that reveal a company’s readiness or interest in the U.S. market. These buying signals are across multiple dimensions: their website mentioning signals like U.S. shipping options or local offices, marketplace presence signals on American platforms like Amazon or Walmart, and online signals such as English-language websites or international media coverage.

We developed our AI Agent, lovingly nicknamed Sherlock, to detect these buying signals, analyzed these data and generated confidence scores, giving our lead generation team a clear picture of which companies were most likely to be interested in the U.S. market. Beyond the scores, it provided reference information for each manufacturer, what they produce, where they operate, and recommended next steps.

The AI-assisted approach dramatically improved efficiency and lead quality. 

We started with 147 companies that fit the industry and size requirements, and after Sherlock did its AI filtering, the list was reduced to 82 high-potential leads, a 33% reduction. This allowed our team to focus on starting conversations with the right manufacturers rather than wasting effort on less promising leads.

Our experienced B2B Lead Generation team then sprung into action and contacted the remaining 82 companies and connected with the right decision makers. Among this list of 82 companies, 42% confirmed their intent to sell in the U.S. and completed our survey. Even more impressively, of the manufacturers we successfully reached by call, 85% confirmed concrete U.S. sales plans.

To further test the value and ROI of Sherlock, we also conducted A/B testing as part of this lead generation campaign. The total prospect pool was divided into List A and List B:

  • List A (Sherlock’s AI list) consisted of AI-filtered prospects, with a total of 82 companies after screening.
  • List B consisted of 210 companies that were not AI-filtered, relying only on basic database filters.

Survey Completion Rate & Qualified Leads

After our lead generation specialists contacted the prospects, the survey completion rate (considered as qualified leads) for the AI-filtered list was 41%, compared to 16% for List B, demonstrating the higher relevance and engagement of the AI list.

Final Qualified Leads & Meeting Bookings

When comparing final qualified leads, the meeting booking rate for the AI list reached 32%, compared to 12% for List B, with prospects showing interest across in-person, online, and phone meetings.

Comparing AI-filtered leads to non-AI leads:

The data showed that even before the first call was made, the list was already precious. The leads from the AI-filtered list showed a much higher level of relevance and engagement, and most importantly, these leads were really interested in exploring the U.S. state’s investment package.
